Weeks of Welcome 2025

at Temple University

A feeling of renewal filled the air during the last two weeks of August as the newest students to Temple University began moving in and getting settled.

Welcoming the Class of 2029 as well as returning students and transfers, Temple received the students in style.

Students shared bittersweet (and sometimes) chaotic moments with their families during move-in. The week culminated in Convocation on Friday, Aug. 22, at the Liacouras Center.

Later that day, students roamed displays and tables from student orgs at TempleFest. But the fun wasn't over, because Main Campus erupted in the party of the century the next night for TUPalooza.

On the first day of classes, returning students were strategically positioned around campus to help new students find their way around.

Moving in

Loading in, saying goodbye and making themselves at home. Welcome to Temple, Class of 2029!

Cant leave home without it...

During move-in, students were asked, “What's one item you just couldn’t leave home without?”

Convocation

In one of Temple’s grandest traditions, new students were welcomed to the nest with cheers from staff, warm words from leadership and a pep rally.

As students processed from their school/college meetings to the Liacouras Center, they were cheered on by Temple staff and the Diamond Band.

Once inside, students sat in their school/college groups and received official greetings from university leadership, including President John and Fry and Provost David Boardman ... followed by a pep rally!

TempleFest

There’s no time to get involved like the start of the semester.

TUPalooza

Just before classes start, Temple throws the biggest party of the year: TUPalooza. From games and rides to food and photos, it’s always a blowout.

Welcome, Class of 2029!
